But soft...
I just finished watching William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, with Leonardo DiCarpio and Claire Daine. If you have not seen the movie, it is the story of Romeo and Juliet in modern Venice Beach, yet in the same dialect of the original play. Love that movie, the colors are so vivid and the director's interpretation of such a classic iconic play is very refreshing. Not to mention the soundtrack.
One song I like in particular is "Everybody's Free" by Quindon Tarver. That little boy can blow.
Grapes anyone?
Theophilus London (great name by the way) is a up and coming underground rapper with a sound I haven't really heard before and his style is something to pay some attention to (check out his shoes in the video below). I came across his music by luck. He happens to be my facebook friend...I don't even though how that happened, but his videos are very entertaining.
Cold Pillow is one of the tracks from his mixtape entitled This Charming Mixtape. I haven't heard too much of his material, but if its anything like this song I predict a great future for him in the music industry.
Click Here for free download of Cold Pillow
I heard it gets pretty hype at his concerts.
The Thin Line
I understand with clothing that there is a thin line between being fashion-forward and just doing too much. Most clothes on the runway don't translate very well or shouldn't be worn at all on the streets of real life, that I understand as well.
But this...
the tights with the shorts
I think I could pull off.

Streetlights - 808s & Heartbreak
I'd say I messed up
Done things I shouldn't
At the time, maybe, it seemed like a good idea
But now I know it wasn't
Yea I'll take full responsibility for that
Because in all reality I wasn't thinking
Yet in my defense, sometimes it easier not to
The pain of my thoughts have me sinking
Especially considering how life's turned out
I'd say I messed up
Isn't that what you want to hear, right?
Said one or two many lies too much
Would've thought to just keep my mouth shut
But that doesn't do any good these days either
The truth does come out anyway
Well most of it does
And thats a good thing for you
I doubt you could handle all the truth
I'd say I messed up
Priorities screwed up, ambitions tainted, hope demolished
Tarnished brass once polished
I clearly see the problems
You've mapped them all out for me
But let's just say, I am a product of my raising
And not all of the fingers should be pointed at me
Yet I still try not to show resentment
Despite of the fact it seeps through my pores
I'd say I messed up
I face the brutal consequences now
Honestly, I've seen it coming for a while
Been collecting bottles of water and canned foods
AA batteries, flash lights
Even nailed boards over the windows
I've prepared for the storm
Gotten pretty numb to the situation completely
I hear thats called a mental defense mechanism
Maybe so, but I've grown so tired of crying and fighting with myself
Tired of smiling when there's nothing to smile about

This is pretty dope...
BTW, We play this song at Club Monaco all the time and I didn't know the name. Thanks Iphone!
You already know how this will end...
I'm not a big fan of video games, but the music for the Gears of War 2 commercial is pretty nice. Just close your eyes and listen.

Peter, Malcolm Peter
So I just saw the new James Bond movie with Bobbie, Quantum of Solace, the action was great and so where the clothes. Plus I'm a fan of Daniel Craig, but the story line was hard to follow and a little uninteresting. I was a disappointed that 007 didn't have any of his usual cool high-tech gadgets this time and he only got laid once. It was rated very well by the critics though and I'm sure it's doing well in sells.
One thing that wasn't uninteresting was the theme song. We all know that every Bond movie has a theme song, this one came by Alicia Keys and Jack Black called "Another Way To Die," which I was unaware of until the movie actually came on. I was bumping my head like shit.
Twilight Movie Trailer
Opens this Friday
I can't wait!
Click Here for a post I did back in March about the book and the movie.
Retro Eye Candy
I came across this fashion spread and article months ago from a magazine, I forget the name (Sorry...so sue me!) with Justin Timberlake in a tux on the cover, but I thought it was fitting to post because it coincides with my current obsession with the 70's.
The models are Dhani Harrison, The Beatle's George Harrison's son (he's a spitting image of his Dad), and Isabelli Fontana. These pictures are exquisite from the clothing, to the location, facial expressions, chemistry...and I could go on.
My eyes are in heaven.

I F*CKs With This Too
Coldplay- Lost feat. Jay-Z Official Video
Great cinematography. Jay's verse is dope, as usual. I also enjoyed Chris Martin's little stage dance.
This song is from Coldplay's new EP Prospekt's March. Prospekt's March contains the left over songs planned for the Viva La Vida album.
Don't you just love this picture of them?
Its from Entertainment Weekly
Flawless
Rihanna- Rehab Official Video
This girl just gets better with time. Each scene the clothes just got hotter and hotter.
Plus, I prefer her with JT over Chris Brown any day.

So Fly I Had To Watch It Twice
The Jetson's pictures in the apartment were sick! and I'm loving how the smoke came out of his cigarette.
This cartoon has all of his mannerisms down pack, I feel like he was in a green bodysuit to make it so realistic.

Borderline
"I wouldn't have turned out the way I was if I didn't have all those old-fashioned values to rebel against.""Everyone probably thinks that I'm a raving nymphomaniac, that I have an insatiable sexual appetite, when the truth is I'd rather read a book.""I am my own experiment. I am my own work of art."~MadonnaShe's great.

Hip-Hop Chic
Eric Lebon is a French street wear designer, his clothes are influenced by hip-hop with a chic traditional twist. That's exactly what it is and I love it.
Here's a glimpse of Lebon's Fall/Winter 08-09 Collection

Channeling Richard Avedon
For my metro riders, I know you have seen the amazing posters of Malcolm X in some thick 60's-like black glasses, a little out of focus. Well if not, I definitely have...especially at the Smithsonian stop. The posters are advertising photographer Richard Avedon's new exhibit.
From October 18th through January 25th the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC has an exhibit of some of Avedon's most memorable portraits entitled Richard Avedon's: Portraits of Power.
"
Richard Avedon, America’s pre-eminent portraitist and fashion photographer, portrayed significant figures of the American political landscape throughout his career. This exhibition brings together Avedon’s work on the subjects of politics and power for the first time. Juxtaposing more than 200 images of government, media, business, and labor officials with photographs of artists, activists, and ordinary citizens caught up in national debates, Richard Avedon: Portraits of Power explores a five-decade photographic inquiry by one of our finest artists."
Kings of Leon...I like these guys
I've never heard this band before until recently, but supposedly they just released there fourth album! Being the music guru that I am (not really), I feel ashamed that I let them fall through the cracks; especially since they are really good. I came across them on Itunes and I just was drawn to the lead singer's voice and the guitar riffs.

Living on the a street named after a Great Oak
Marveling at the floral fuzzy wallpaper circa 1976 of burnt orange and yellow surrounding me
Gee, in the midst of all of this remodeling, I hope she never changes these walls
I like it; gives the place some character, opposed to this egg shell shit being plastered everywhere
Ha, I even remember when this wall behind me had a cliff and beach mural.
As a kid, I was always amazed by it
But that too over time became the victim of the remodeling bug
My grandparents had to be cool as shit man. Come on, who else would have fuzzy wallpaper and a gigantic mural on their walls?
I'm closing my eyes right now, imagining them with afros and bellbottoms walking these halls
Man, I just love that era
It's just something about the birth of eccentricism and individuality that's really alluring
I would have definitely been a hippie.
Driving a big rusty blue Chevy, headband around my fro, half button polyester shirt, smoking white boys, and listening to Hendrix.(chuckle) Can't you see it?
But yea, this house has so much history, so many memories
I was raised here, but even crazier...my mom was raised here.
Wow, that puts things in perspective
Peas raised in the same pod.
I'll give her that one, just this one time though.
But don't tell anybody.

Black is in Style, but then again it always has been
When my TV is on, its on Bravo
Remember to watch Rachel Zoe Project Finale, Tues, Oct. 14, and Project Runway Finale Wed, Oct. 15
Here's what Jerrell would have shown if he had made it to Fashion Week.
Love Jerrel, but I'm kind of happy that he got kicked off. I don't know how I feel about this collection.
Love Lockdown Video
Love the white.
Yea I know...on Ellen? Yea he's different, but always in a good way.
Shhhee Back!
Beyonce's new album I am... will be released November 11th. I can't wait. Her first two singles have already been release. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), her more up-tempo track, reminds me of Get Me Bodied alot, it growing on me though. I just knew that she was going to make Beautiful Nightmare her first single, I'm kind of happy that she didn't though...it leaked months ago. The single, If I Were A Boy is beautiful. At first I thought it was going to be like Ciara's Like A Boy and I would have been pissed. Its a really different sound for her and the video is deep and surprising at the end.
Both videos are going to be released today via Mtv, BET, and Viacom...so watch out for those.
In the new Essense, Mrs. Carter finally talks about her and Jay!
He's my new facebook friend. lol

Oak = Life
Oak is my new favorite website for online shopping. They have clothes, outwear, shoes, and assessories that I have never seen anywhere from some great designers. The stuff is hot...its like having Soho on your lap. They have great women stuff too.
Now some of the prices are kind of high, but if you have it...why not? Or save up your pennies (like I do) and treat yourself to something nice.
Here are some of my favorite items that I came across on Oak:
New Haven Parka by Mike & Chris
Ghost Hoodie by Unconventional
Motor Cardigan by Opening Ceremony
Twill Tech Pant by Y-3
Crepe Hiking Boot by F-troupe
Black Twiggy Shoe by Cheapo
