If you have not read Twilight (shame on you), here is a brief plot summary:
Bella Swan has just moved to Forks, Wash., the smallest town imaginable, with nothing to offer other than rainy days - until Edward Cullen and his family of vampires enter her life. Bella and Edward struggle with raging, teenage emotions, as well as a few fatal problems, like his insatiable thirst for her sweet blood. Edward's icy flesh and gorgeous features intrigue Bella, causing both parties to be addicted to each other. What the two must figure out is if Edward can sustain himself on his "vegetarian" diet of large forest animals, and if Bella can control her clumsy behavior to prevent her demise.

I wouldn't lie to you, Twilight is addicting. I read the whole book in 3 days. I am in the process of reading Eclipse now. If you like the Harry Potter series, I am sure you will enjoy this too.
