Carter, Carter, Carter...Third times the charmed

Tha Carter III was named the "#1 most anticipated album of 2007" by XXL magazine, but was changed to a 2008 release date and I have been awaiting its arrivel. The first single Lollipop is fire, even though I had to hear it about three times before I liked it.

 After it feels like a million mixtapes, the third addition to Tha Carter series is planned to be released June 10, 2008, with songs 
featuring Ludacris, 
Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, Birdman (of course), The Game, Juelz Santana, Kanye West, Wyclef Jean, and Jay-Z.

The Good Life

I love this Kanye quote...its exactly how I feel. Do things because you love it not for the money. I do this blog as an expression of who I am, not for the profit (which at this point in non-existent lol).
This Johnny Cash song Satisfied Mind fits this quote perfectly.

Forbidden Fruit

For those who are fans of the Stephenie Meyer's New York Times Bestseller and critically claimed novel Twilight and their equally successful sequels New Moon and Eclipse, you will be 
pleased to know that production has already begun for the Twilight movie. 

If you have not read Twilight (shame on you), here is a brief plot summary:

Bella Swan has just moved to Forks, Wash., the smallest town imaginable, with nothing to offer other than rainy days - until Edward Cullen and his family of vampires enter her life.  Bella and Edward struggle with raging, teenage emotions, as well as a few fatal problems, like his insatiable thirst for her sweet blood. Edward's icy flesh and gorgeous features intrigue Bella, causing both parties to be addicted to each other. What the two must figure out is if Edward can sustain himself on his "vegetarian" diet of large forest animals, and if Bella can control her clumsy behavior to prevent her demise.

I wouldn't lie to you, Twilight is addicting. I read the whole book in 3 days. I am in the process of reading Eclipse now. If you like the Harry Potter series, I am sure you will enjoy this too.

The art direction and music in the video is amazing, not to mention the clothes. Definately one of my favorite designers.

A few facts about Yves Saint Laurent, the designer and brand:

• Saint-Laurent left home at the age of 17 to work for the French designer Christian Dior.
• Yves Saint-Laurent was founded by designer Yves Saint-Laurent and his partner, Pierre Bergé, in 1962.
• In 1966, he popularized ready-to-wear in an attempt to democratize fashion, with Rive Gauche and the boutique of the same name.
• He was first designer to use black models in his catwalk shows.
• In 1993, the Saint-Laurent fashion house was sold to the pharmaceuticals company Sanofi for approximately $600,000,000.
• In 1983, he became the first living fashion designer to be honored by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
• Saint-Laurent retired in 2002, the brand still survives through its parent company Gucci. Today, its chief designer is Stefano Pilati.
